The Global Times reported that Chinese archaeologists once again refuted the “alien theory” circulating online about the ancient Sanxingdui site in Sichuan province, southwest China.

Archaeologists have recorded a number of antiques similar to those found at the Erlitou site in Henan province, central China, showing that these two cultures are related to each other. Archaeologists affirm that the theory that this is the work of aliens is “completely baseless”.

First discovered in 1929, the Tam Tinh Doi site – which dates back to the Bronze Age 3,000 years ago – has brought one pleasant surprise after another after decades of excavation and research. Archaeologists.

Many of the unearthed statues have exaggerated appearances, leading some to hypothesize whether the site was ever visited by aliens.

“Some artistically exaggerated statues of goddesses cannot be considered aliens” – Lei Yu, an archaeologist at the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Archeology and Cultural Relics Research, said know.

He explained, the archaeological team did not find any writing at this site.

Mr. Lei added: β€œIf the artifacts at the Sanxingdui site were made of organic materials such as fabric and silk, it would not be easy for them to last long, but we do not give up hope that a Miracles can appear in a certain hole.”

In March, Chinese archaeologists unearthed more than 500 artifacts in six ancient sacrificial pits. Some jade artifacts are very similar to relics excavated from the Erlitou site – which archaeologists believe was the former capital of the late Xia Dynasty (2070 – 1600 BC ).

According to Chinese archaeologists, both sites are typical examples of Bronze Age civilizations.

Zhao Haitao – head of the archaeological team at the Sanxingdui site – revealed that the peak period of the Erlitou culture was earlier than that of the Sanxingdui culture. The two places are thousands of kilometers apart and relatively independent of each other, each with its own cultural development.

β€œThe similarities of some cultural artifacts excavated in the two places show that the Erlitou culture had some influence on the Sanxingdui culture, and their cultural exchanges were mainly expressed in the ritual system at a high level”.

In the future, archaeologists will focus on three areas at the Sanxingdui archaeological site – where the texts were discovered, how the excavated relics were used, and whether the Sanxingdui culture was influenced by foreign civilizations or not.

“So far we have not found any connection with Egyptian civilization and civilizations in the West or South Asia,” Mr. Lei said.
